Shipping has already begun and, by the end of the year, more than 46,000 units or 15% of the total order will have been delivered. The Air Force first ordered QuikClot® in 2005. The new order represents a significant increase in the number of QuikClot® units it will have in the field. QuikClot® brand hemostatic agent is currently the only advanced blood-clotting agent in use by all branches of the U.S. Military. In addition to the U.N., F.B.I., and other security agencies, as well as first responders around the nation, QuikClot® is in use in 36 countries worldwide. “Z-Medica is very proud that QuikClot® has become an integral part of the U.S. Air Force’s lifesaving and safety equipment,” said Z-Medica CEO Raymond J. The product was tested by the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) and the Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC). QuikClot® has already been credited with saving more than 150 lives in Iraq and Afghanistan.
